Program Description:

Students seeking admission into the Master of Science in Mathematics must meet the admission requirements of the Graduate School and the specific program requirements. Students may not take 6000-level courses for credit until all undergraduate deficiencies have been removed. Candidates must take at least three of the following two semester sequences: 

Functions of a Real Variable I and II (MATH 6823 and 6833)
Functions of a Complex Variable I and II (MATH 6853 and 6863)
Abstract Algebra I and II (MATH 6603 and 6613)
Point Set Topology and Differential Geometry (MATH 6753 and 6623)
Numerical Analysis I and II (MATH 6873 and 6883)
Data Analysis I and II (STAT 6633 and 6643)
Statistical Analysis I and II (STAT 6703 and 6713)    

Candidates must take an additional 18 hours of which: 

Minimum 12 hours in courses with MATH or STAT prefix
Maximum six hours in approved related areas

Minimum 21 hours of 6000 level coursework excluding thesis
