Program Description:

The MSE in Education Theory and Practice serves two constituencies:
1. Teachers who wish to improve their general understanding of curriculum theory and current practices and to increase their professionalism and competency in a variety of current educational issues. Some candidates in this constituency might also utilize this degree in seeking their National Board licensure.
2. Individuals who wish to become teachers and acquire an initial teaching license.

Admission Requirement:


Admission requirement for the first constituency:
Unconditional Admission
a) Hold a current teaching license
b) Have a 3.0 GPA on undergraduate work
c) Must not be a felon
d) Receive admission to the Graduate School
Conditional Admission
a) Hold a current teaching license
b) Have a 2.75 GPA on undergraduate work or 3.0 in last 60 hours
c) Must not be a felon
d) Receive admission to the Graduate School
Admission requirement for the second constituency:
a) Holds a bachelors degree in a state licensure area
b) Receive admission to the Graduate School
c) Must not be a felon
